The smokey aromas of my neighbor's barbecue wafted in through my window this afternoon, making my mouth water. I craved the burgers and vegetables he was grilling up, but I didn't have my own BBQ to cook on.

As part of my spring cleaning binge, I was chasing dust bunnies around my house with my big cumbersome vacuum. I attempted to vacuum my stairs but had a difficult time sucking all the dust out of the creases. Finally, I gave up the struggle and decided it was time to get a smaller, handheld vacuum.

The Miss USA competition is over, but the dust is still settling from the bomb that went off between Perez Hilton and Miss California, Carrie Prejean. Earth Day is a great time to remind us why it's important to consider how our everyday actions will affect the environment for years to come. There are so many simple things a person can do to help save our environment and planet.
